I do so like Green Eggs and Ham!

It seems like everyone is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday today.  He is probably one of the most notable childrens literary figures of our time.  His books span through decades; they are timeless, classic, orginal, imaginative, and their sing-songy rhymes stay in your head forever.  So, no wonder everyone wants to honor the man that has created some of favorite bedtime stories.

Michelle Obama read "The Cat In The Hat" to local students.

Check out what Poca Cosas is taking to her son's class tomorrow when she reads "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish".

Make and Takes
Make and Takes featured a great post this weekend on celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday, with lots of great links to great "Seussical" crafts.

Since "Green Eggs and Ham" is one of Emerson's favorite books, she can practically receit it word for word, I thought it would be fun to have green eggs and ham (read: turkey bologna) for dinner.  We even added toast with green butter.  Emerson got a kick out of the sight of her green eggs and green buttered bread.  It just goes to show, it doesn't take much to make a toddler happy.....just a little bit of food coloring!!
