2011 Easter Festivities

Here's a caption and picture recap of our Easter Festivities!!!

Thursday, April 21st
Daycare Easter Egg Hunt
Thursday morning I headed over to our daycare to watch all the kids enjoy the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  I am always amazed at how many eggs are put out and how fast the kids swipe them up.  This year, Gail arranged a special treat for the kids; The Easter Bunny showed up and surprised everyone!!  The kids were so excited and had a great time hunting eggs!!

Friday, April 22nd
Visiting the Easter Bunny
Emerson was out of school on Friday for the Good Friday holiday, and Danny was out of town on a guys golf weekend, so Emerson and I spent the entire day together.  What better time can a Mom and daughter spend, than at the mall!!  After a 30 minute wait, we finally got our chance to see the bunny and then headed for some fun in the play area and then lunch at subway in the food court!!

Saturday, April 23rd
Dying Easter Eggs
Still by ourselves on Saturday morning, Emerson and I opted out of the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt and instead dyed Easter eggs.   After our Easter Egg art, we headed out for some errands and then went to the hospital to see our new neighbor, Bryce.

Sunday, April 24th
Easter Morning
Easter morning we got up to a table-full of goodies left by the Easter Bunny.  Emerson was so excited about her bunny pillow pet and it's now joined the ranks of all the other stuffed animals in her bed.  Mimi and Birdie stopped by that morning to give Emerson a few Easter goodies.  I was also able to get a few pictures in her first Easter outfit of the day!!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt with the Hermans
Although they had only been home from the hospital for only about 20 minutes, the Hermans were still willing to go through with our annual Easter Egg hunt.  What troopers!!  Will and Stuart joined us this year and the kids had a great time hunting for eggs.  Amy's dad, Jeff, did a much better job hiding the eggs than in years past when we'd just chuck them in the yard without much thought about hiding them.  I guess the girls are getting to an age where it should be a bit more challenging.  I think they found all the eggs and immediately wanted to sit down and start opening them.  Another great annual hunt!!

Dinner at Grammy and Papa's House
After our Easter Egg hunt, we rested for a bit and then headed to Grammy and Papa's house where Mimi and Birdie joined us for Easter dinner.  Grammy made her famous bunny cake, among other delicious eats like ham, scalloped potatoes, and baked beans; Mimi brought my favorite squash and Emerson's favorite green beans and a super yummy cheesecake and I brought a fruit salad.  It was way too much food for the seven of us.  Before we sat down to eat, Emerson hunted for some eggs in Grammy's yard.  After our meal, Emerson played soccer outside and worked off her meal.  It was a great way to end our day and Easter holiday festivities!!
