Show-and-Tell #51: Baby Cinderella

Last Friday, August 27, Emerson decided she wanted to take her baby Cinderella to school for Show-and-Tell, since she had taken the "Mommy Cinderella" a few weeks earlier.  Baby Cinderella was brought back recently from one of Danny's many trips.  Emerson was so excited to have the baby version of Cinderella.  She loves to play with Mommy and Baby....if only Emerson and I could be as glamorous as the Cinderellas!!!

Swim Lessons 2010: Round 2, Week 2 (Wednesday)

I'm continuing my "catching up on posts" spree.  I recently posted about Emerson's second set of swim lessons this summer.  Round 2 of swim lessons went much the way Round 1 did until the Wednesday of Week 2, when Mary switched up the routine a bit.  All the kids practiced their arms, kicking their legs, blowing bubbles, jumping in the water, swimming on their backs, but this week, Mary had all the kids try to swim on their own with the float belt tied around them.  Emerson was the youngest in her class, and was obviously, the only one who wasn't quite acquainted to the water like the others were.  The other kids had no problem swimming on their own...a bit green at it, but still didn't mind.  Emerson had a hard time with it at first and was really afraid, but she was so proud of herself once she had done it.  Enjoy pictures from Round 2, Week 2.

Wordless Wednesday: Peek-A-Boo!!!

The Flea Market

I am so far behind in blogging, so I thought I would try to get some blogs out quickly.  Two Saturdays ago (August 21st), Danny was out-of-town (again), so Emerson and I tried to find something to do, as to not go stir-crazy in the house.  I thought it would be a great idea to go to the flea market.  We had very successful trips in the past and when I mentioned it to Emerson, she lit up.  "The field market, Mommy!" She was so excited, so away we went!!!

Emerson was very prepared to shop, sunglasses and all!!

Check out all the vendors....I am always amazed at the showing of vendors
on a Saturday or Sunday morning!!

Just chillin' while Mommy looks for treasures!!

A Carolina Blue chest....too bad it wouldn't fit in my car, or anywhere in my house!!
 (it also needed some distressing)

For all my Alpha Chi girls...I love this!!!  If it's there the next time I go back,
it's coming home with me!!

Who doesn't remember these TV ads from the 80's....
"This is your brain on...."

A much needed and much deserved cookie break!!

One man's junk is another man's treasure.  Emerson and I didn't find much treasure amongst all this junk...

Picnic!!!  What better way to end the day than with a drink, hotdog, and chips....oh, yes, and good quality time with your daughter at the "field market" !!!

Show-and-Tell #50: Pinky

Emerson was never the type of baby (or toddler, for that matter) that needed a lovey or something to cuddle with every night.  She never carried around a blankie for security.  She never had a paci.  She never had a special toy....until she turned 3.  Recently, Emerson has a new lovey that she just can't go to bed without.  Pinky, a toy she got when she was an infant, has made a reemergence and is now Emerson's new bedtime buddy.  She loves her Pinky and has to have it every night at bedtime and on the weekends for nap time.  So two Fridays ago (yes, I am SO far behind on blogging), we let Emerson take her new favorite snuggle pal to school for Show-and-Tell.  Believe it or not, she even took a nap that day at school.  Maybe I should let her take Pink EVERYDAY!!!
